The "other" mall.

Kidney and I made the "long" car drive to Bellevue to pick up some Burgermaster for lunch. On our road trip we drove through the main thoroughfare in downtown B-town. This is the "other" mall across from the "main" mall. It was in construction for almost a decade and finally sprang up (supposedly after a number of delays, fines and sellings from one person to another) in a matter of months.

Too many malls and not enough cool places to just do things. That and you're hard pressed to find any comic book shop around here. Before the big (and somewhat well-deserved) shucking of comic book stores in the 90's, there were about 3 or 4 shops all within a short drive of one another. My favorite shop was Reid Comics in Renton. It was owned by two brothers who had the kind of passion and love and light-hearted approach to comic book collecting that you see these days from the likes of
Kevin Smith whenever anyone can get him talking about comics (which is pretty much any time). Reid Comics closed up shop in the early 90's. It looks like the only Google-worthy finding is that of one of the brothers - Jeff. Apparently he kept on with his study of nuclear physics. Posted by Picasa
